There is a “DISPOSAL OF LEAD FISHING TACKLE” box located at the Westmoreland Recycling Center. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Henniker, NH is supplying boxes to towns for the collection of lead sinkers and jigs on fishing tackle, which have accounted for 44% of all documented adult loon deaths in the State between 1989 and 2017. Fishing tackle with lead has been banned in New Hampshire. This is a large negative impact on our State’s small loon population. Please help by doing your part.

Recycling Center stickers:  New YELLOW stickers will be required as of June 1st.  2 stickers are allowed per household.  Stickers are $5 each and are available in MAY at the Selectmen’s Office (cash or check) or at the Recycling Center BY CHECK ONLY – CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR STICKERS AT THE RECYCLING CENTER.
