WHAT DOES THE PLANNING BOARD DO?
Informative letters by Larry Siegel
Planning Board Informational Letter #1
As part of the work for the Master Plan as well as information that can help the Planning Board ensure our work reflects residents' desires, we are going to post some questions over the next few months. While your answers will be anonymous, we do ask what part of town you live in just to make sure that we are getting a broad cross section of views.
Elm City Compost is looking into starting a food/organic waste collection site at the Westmoreland Transfer Station. This would allow individuals to divert food/organic waste instead of it going into any landfills. Food/organic waste that is collected by ECCI is composted and used in local soils. This service is provided as a subscriptions service at around $13-$15/month for interested residents. ECCI needs around 50 sign ups in order to start a drop off site. Visit Elm City's website. Check out Elm City's flyer. What can be composted?
