Starting July 1, 2025
it will be illegal to put rechargeable lithium-ion batteries in the trash!
They must be recycled through special battery collection programs and NEVER mixed with regular recyclables.
This new lithium-ion battery disposal ban has been added to the existing ban for lead acid batteries and electronic devices in RSA 149-M:27. We recommend sharing this information with residents or facility users.

Residents will need to have use a Westmoreland trash bag to use the recycling center for trash which can be purchased in July from the following locations:
Westmoreland General Store/Jingles
Barn and Thistle
Market Basket
Bags CANNOT be purchased from the recycling center or the Town Hall
